Purdue University Veterinary School: Interview Questions for spring 2002
Interviewers (2): both faculty members, some people
also had local vets
Questions: informal, 20-minute interview.
- see
Auburn questions, they were identical
- some
people were asked specific questions about diseases or different species
- I had
a “stress” like interview where I was antagonized over my answer to where
I saw myself in 10 years.
- Other
people had very comfortable interviews
Mississippi State University
Veterinary School: Interview Questions for spring 2002
Interviewers (3): current
and retired vet school faculty
Questions: very informal
and relaxed, 30-minute interview
- the
same questions as Auburn and Purdue with an additional ethical question
- What
you would you do if you accidentally injected an animal that was likely to
die anyway with euthanasia solution instead of painkiller and killed the
animal? Would you tell the truth
to the owner? The set up is you
are working overnight in a hospital alone with a lot of sick animals and
you are rushing.
- You
are given a mentor student who contacts you prior to your interview and
walks you through the day (see the MSU folder) and makes sure you are
taken care of.
- Be
aware, the freshman year of vet school at MSU begins in May
- They
were very helpful and friendly, I was missing the nutrition course and
they substituted a cell metabolism course for it
